Hi, this is Dr. Kim. A lot of female patients in these days tell me that they suffer from dark circles which are often hard to cover with the most clever make-up technique. Today, let's find out about dark circles and some of the correction methods. 

Dark circles are due to weakened shield 

covering fat underneath eyelid 

that causes bulging and shadowy appearance. 

It may appear as bluish circle below your eyes along the side of nose. 

Dark circles can make you look aged or fatigue 

that you might want to consider dark circle correction.

Dark circles can be divided into 4 types, 

and it is important to choose a proper method for its correction. 

▶Loosened Eyelid with Fat - Correction via Fat removal on Lower Eyelid

Individuals in their 20s and 30s have better results 

due to higher elasticity in their skin. 

There is no visible scar after surgery

since the incision is made along the inner surface of eyelids. 

▶ Bulging Fat yet Sunken Lower Eyelids - Correction via Fat Relocation

Instead of removing unnecessary fat, 

it is relocated in order to even the the skin surface on lower eyelids. 

If there is not enough fat to fill up the sunken part, 

autologous fat grafting may be necessary.
